The foundations of my practice are rooted in acceptance and openness, allowing for students of all levels to participate. Challenging yet approachable, sessions are taught at an open level and can be tailored to participant's needs and capabilities.
When people ask me how I define yoga, I can’t help but respond by taking in a deep inhale and then letting out a powerful exhale. This response aligns with a mantra I often tell my students – ‘if you are breathing, then you are doing yoga’. Meaning that breath is the foundation of our perception and how we show up for ourselves, whether it is on or off the mat.
What I find to be so special about yoga is that it is not only a workout but also a work in; an opportunity to align our goals and intentions with both soothing and challenging asanas - yoga poses, preparing us to go through life with purpose. My goal in this work is to help people embrace yoga as a means of self discovery and awareness. As indicated by the name, Yoga with Serena is a journey that we are all on together as a collective force.
